Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can persist in water and the environment for a very long time. Because it doesn’t break down readily, small amounts introduced over time can remain in a system. Blocker homeowners typically hear about PFOS from water reports, local news, or private testing — and the sensible next step is confirming what’s present in your supply and selecting treatment designed for PFAS removal.
PFOS usually has no taste or smell, unlike chlorine or other obvious nuisance issues, so it’s hard to detect by simply looking at your tap water. That’s why many Blocker residents prefer addressing it as a long-term exposure matter rather than waiting for visible signs. Installing treatment where the water enters your home ensures reduced PFOS for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry throughout your house.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single filter is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) media engineered for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto its extensive internal surface as water flows through. Because PFOS is tougher to remove than typical taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the media, adequate bed depth, and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC system can protect your entire Blocker home without relying on multiple under-sink units.
A whole-house GAC unit is fitted to the main water line so every faucet in your Blocker home gets treated water. To maintain PFOS reduction, the system must match your household’s peak flow and receive timely media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can suggest a whole-house carbon setup suited to PFOS concerns and your home’s plumbing, and periodic testing before and after installation gives extra assurance that the system continues to perform.
