PFOS in Eustis Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of PFOS in the Water Supply of Eustis Florida Homes

PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can linger in water because it breaks down very slowly. Even small inputs over time can result in a persistent presence in a local supply, so homeowners around Eustis — whether near the Lake Eustis waterfront area or in neighborhoods like Downtown Eustis and Eustis Heights — often hear about it on water quality reports, local news, or from private home testing. If PFOS is a concern for your household, the practical next steps are confirming what’s in your plumbing with testing and selecting treatment that targets PFAS specifically.

Unlike chlorine or a sulfur smell, PFOS usually has no taste or odor, so you can’t rely on appearance or smell to tell if it’s present in your tap water. That’s why many Eustis homeowners take a long-term view of the issue — focusing on reducing exposure through treatment rather than waiting for an obvious nuisance. Treating the water at the point where it enters your home protects drinking and cooking water as well as water used for bathing and laundry, which is especially useful in Lake County where hard water can already affect appliances and plumbing.
