Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is a persistent type of PFAS that can remain in the environment for a long time once introduced. Because it doesn’t break down readily, small inputs over time may lead to ongoing presence in a water supply. Fenholloway homeowners commonly hear about PFOS from local water reports, the news, or private testing. If you’re worried, the sensible next steps are confirming what’s in your household water and selecting treatment that targets PFAS specifically.
Unlike chlorine or other taste-and-odor problems, PFOS usually has no color or smell, so you can’t rely on your senses to know whether it’s present. That makes it a longer-term exposure concern rather than an immediate nuisance. For Fenholloway residences, a practical solution is treating water where it enters the house so drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry benefit from the same level of reduction.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the best single filter choice is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto a very large internal surface area as water flows through. Because PFOS can be more difficult to manage than routine taste-and-odor contaminants, the effectiveness depends on quality media, sufficient bed depth, and correct flow rates. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit will protect every fixture without relying on multiple under-sink devices.
A whole-house GAC filter mounts on the main line so every faucet and appliance in your Fenholloway home gets treated water; the system must be sized for peak flow and kept up with timely media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can recommend a carbon configuration suited to PFOS reduction and matched to your plumbing and household use. If you’d like extra assurance, periodic testing of water before and after the system verifies ongoing performance.
