Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can persist in the environment and sometimes shows up in drinking water. Because it breaks down slowly, small amounts introduced over time can remain in a water system. Green-Mar Acres homeowners most often hear about PFOS from local water reports, news, or private testing. If you’re worried about your family’s water, start by confirming what’s in your supply and then choose a treatment that specifically targets PFAS.
PFOS doesn’t usually affect taste or smell, so you can’t rely on appearance to know whether it’s present. That’s why it’s considered a long-term exposure concern rather than an immediate nuisance. For Green-Mar Acres residents, a sensible plan is whole-house treatment at the point where water enters your property so drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry are all covered.
For reducing PFOS throughout your home, the most effective single option is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS removal. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto a very large internal surface as water flows through the media. Because PFOS is tougher to remove than ordinary taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the carbon, bed depth and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit can protect an entire Green-Mar Acres home without relying on multiple under-sink devices.
A whole-house GAC filter mounts on the main supply so every fixture gets treated water; in hard-water areas like Palm Beach County, that also helps limit limescale reaching appliances. To maintain steady PFOS reduction the system must be sized for your peak flow and serviced with scheduled media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can assess your Green-Mar Acres plumbing and recommend a whole-house carbon setup tuned for PFOS, and periodic before-and-after testing gives extra assurance the system is performing.
