Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can persist in drinking water and the environment for long periods. Because it breaks down slowly, small amounts introduced over time may remain in a water supply. Hickory Hill homeowners often first hear about PFOS from local water reports, the news, or a private test of their tap water. If you’re worried, a sensible next step is confirming what’s in your water and selecting treatment designed specifically for PFAS removal.
PFOS usually can’t be tasted, smelled or seen at the tap, which makes it hard to judge by appearance alone. It’s generally considered a long-term exposure issue rather than an immediate nuisance. For residents of Hickory Hill, the most practical solution is treating water where it enters the house so reduction applies to drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry throughout your home.
The single most effective whole-house option for reducing PFOS is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC reduces PFOS by adsorbing it to the carbon’s large internal surface as water flows through. Because PFOS can be more difficult to remove than common taste-and-odor contaminants, media quality, bed depth and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC system treats the entire Hickory Hill home without needing multiple point-of-use units.
A whole-house GAC filter is fitted on the main water line so every faucet and fixture in your Hickory Hill residence receives treated water. To maintain reliable PFOS reduction, the system should match your household’s peak flow and be serviced with timely media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can help recommend a whole-house carbon setup suited for PFOS reduction and your home’s plumbing, and periodic before-and-after testing provides added assurance the system is performing as expected.
