Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can linger in water supplies because it resists breaking down. Even small, repeated releases can lead to a persistent presence, so many Holley homeowners first hear about it from a municipal report, local coverage, or a private water test. If you’re worried about PFOS in your Holley water, the sensible next steps are confirming what’s present with testing and then choosing a treatment that targets PFAS specifically.
PFOS doesn’t usually affect taste or smell, so you can’t rely on sight or scent to know whether it’s in your water. That’s why many families in Holley choose to treat at the point where water enters the house — this way drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry all benefit from the same protection. Because PFOS is mainly a long-term exposure concern rather than an immediate nuisance, a whole-house approach gives broad coverage and peace of mind.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single-filter choice is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC works by adsorbing PFOS onto its extensive internal surface as water flows through. Because PFOS can be tougher to remove than routine taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the carbon media, adequate bed depth and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit can treat your entire Holley home without needing multiple under-sink devices.
A whole-house GAC filter mounts on the main supply so every fixture in your Holley residence receives treated water; to maintain PFOS reduction, the system must match your peak flow needs and have timely media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can help select a carbon configuration suited for PFOS that fits your home’s plumbing and daily use, and follow-up testing before and after installation provides added assurance the system is performing as expected.
