Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is a member of the PFAS family that can persist in water and the environment for a very long time. Because it resists breaking down, repeated small inputs can result in ongoing presence in a water supply. In Kellys Mill, homeowners typically hear about PFOS from local water reports, news stories, or private testing, and the sensible next steps are confirming what’s in your own tap water and choosing treatment that specifically targets PFAS.
PFOS usually has no taste or smell, so you won’t detect it by looking at or sampling water at the kitchen sink. That makes it a long-term exposure concern rather than an obvious nuisance. In Kellys Mill households the most practical strategy is whole-house treatment at the point of entry so drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry are all covered.
For whole-house removal of PFOS, the most effective single option is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) filter formulated for PFAS. Carbon removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto a very large internal surface area as water flows through. Because PFOS is tougher to remove than many common taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the media, bed depth and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC system will protect an entire Kellys Mill home without needing multiple under-sink units.
A whole-house GAC unit mounts on the main water line so every fixture in your Kellys Mill home gets treated water; it should be sized for your peak flow and maintained with timely media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can help choose a carbon configuration suited for PFOS that matches your plumbing and household use, and periodic testing before and after installation adds assurance that the system continues to perform.
