Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is a member of the PFAS family that can persist in the environment and sometimes shows up in drinking water. Because it resists breaking down, small inputs over time may lead to ongoing presence in a water supply. Olive homeowners often first hear about PFOS from local water reports, neighbors, or private well testing; if you’re worried, confirm what’s in your water with a test and then pick treatment that specifically targets PFAS.
PFOS won’t usually change your water’s taste, smell, or appearance, so it’s not something you can reliably detect at the tap. That’s why many residents in and around Olive treat the whole house rather than relying on sensory checks. Treating water where it enters your home protects drinking and cooking water as well as bathing and laundry from long-term exposure.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single filter is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system engineered for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto a very large internal surface as water flows through the media. Because PFOS is harder to remove than routine taste-and-odor compounds, media quality, bed depth and proper flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit can treat the entire Olive home without needing multiple under-sink devices.
A whole-house GAC filter is installed on the main water line so every faucet in your Olive home receives treated water; sizing for peak flow and timely media changeouts keep PFOS reduction consistent. Mr. Pure Water can recommend a carbon configuration matched to your plumbing and usage for PFOS, and periodic before-and-after testing provides added assurance the system is performing.
