Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one of the PFAS chemicals that can linger in drinking water because it resists breaking down. Over time small inputs can result in a persistent presence in a water system. Pace homeowners often become aware of PFOS through local water reports, news, or independent home testing. If you’re worried, the sensible next steps are confirming what’s in your water and choosing a treatment specifically aimed at PFAS like PFOS.
PFOS doesn’t usually affect taste or smell the way chlorine does, so you can’t rely on appearances at the tap to know whether it’s present. That makes it a longer-term exposure issue rather than an obvious nuisance you can detect immediately. Treating water where it enters the house provides protection for drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry across your whole Pace home.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single option is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) filter designed for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto the media’s large internal surface as water flows through. Because PFOS is more stubborn than many taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the media, sufficient bed depth, and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC system treats the entire home without needing several under-sink units.
A whole-house GAC unit is fitted on the main water line so every faucet and fixture in your Pace residence receives treated water. To maintain PFOS reduction, the system must match your household peak flow and have scheduled media replacements. Mr. Pure Water can suggest the right whole-house carbon setup for PFOS that fits your plumbing and usage, and periodic before-and-after testing can confirm ongoing performance.
