Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is one form of PFAS that can linger in drinking water because it resists breaking down. Even small inputs can result in a persistent presence over time, so many Telogia residents first hear about it through local testing or water-quality information. If you’re worried about PFOS in your household supply, the sensible next steps are to confirm what’s in your water and select a treatment that specifically targets PFAS compounds.
PFOS usually doesn’t affect the smell or appearance of water, so you can’t rely on taste or clarity to judge whether it’s present. That’s why Telogia homeowners often take a precautionary route and address potential long-term exposure rather than waiting for obvious signs. Treating water where it enters the house makes sense because it protects drinking, cooking, bathing, and laundry throughout your home.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single solution is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto the media’s extensive surface area as water flows through. Because PFOS can be tougher to remove than ordinary taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the carbon, sufficient bed depth, and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit will treat water for the entire Telogia home without needing multiple point-of-use filters.
A whole-house GAC filter is plumbed to the main water line so every faucet and fixture in your Telogia home gets treated water; to maintain PFOS reduction, the system must match your peak flow needs and the media replaced on schedule. Mr. Pure Water can help you choose a whole-house carbon setup that fits your plumbing and usage patterns and advise on maintenance. If you’d like extra assurance, we also recommend periodic testing before and after installation to confirm ongoing performance.
