Including filter system and high-performance PFOS filter.
PFOS is a kind of PFAS that can persist in water and the environment for a very long time, so small sources introduced over time may stick around. Villa Tasso homeowners typically first hear about PFOS from water quality reports, local news, or private testing of their household supply. If you’re worried, the practical next steps are confirming what your water contains with a test and selecting a treatment that targets PFAS specifically.
PFOS won’t usually change the smell or look of your tap water, so it’s not something you can judge by taste or appearance alone. That makes it harder for Villa Tasso residents to assess risk without testing, since PFOS is mainly a long-term exposure concern rather than an immediate nuisance. Treating water at the point it enters your home is a sensible strategy so reduced PFOS levels apply to drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry throughout the house.
For whole-house reduction of PFOS, the most effective single-filter solution is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system specified for PFAS removal. GAC removes PFOS by adsorbing it onto extensive internal surfaces as water flows through the media. Because PFOS is tougher to remove than routine taste-and-odor contaminants, the quality of the carbon, sufficient bed depth and correct flow rates are important. A properly sized whole-house GAC unit can treat all outlets in a Villa Tasso home without relying on multiple under-sink devices.
A whole-house GAC filter installs on the main water line so every faucet and fixture in your Villa Tasso home gets treated water; to keep PFOS reduction steady, the system must match your household’s peak flow and have media changed on schedule. Mr. Pure Water can recommend a carbon configuration suited to PFOS control that fits your plumbing and water use, and periodic pre- and post-treatment testing provides added assurance the system is performing over time.
