Including filter system and high-performance PFPeS filter.
PFPeS is one of the PFAS chemicals people sometimes call “forever chemicals” because they persist in the environment. You won’t usually detect PFPeS by sight, taste, or smell — it can be present even when water seems normal. Sources can include industrial uses, treated wastewater, or runoff that reaches local drinking sources. If Milltown homeowners are worried about PFPeS in their water, the most reliable way to know is to have the water tested.
Because PFPeS belongs to the larger PFAS family, it’s often assessed together with related compounds when checking water quality. Even if your Milltown tap water looks and tastes fine, many families prefer an extra layer of protection for drinking, cooking, bathing, and appliances. A whole-house system treats water at the point it enters your home so every faucet and shower receives treated water — a practical choice for homeowners who want comprehensive coverage rather than just a single faucet filter.
For whole-home reduction of PFPeS, the most effective single-filter option is a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) system formulated for PFAS. GAC removes many organic contaminants by adsorbing them onto its large surface area as water flows through. How well it works depends on the carbon type, contact time, and correct sizing to match your Milltown household’s flow rate and water use. Installed at the point of entry, a properly sized GAC unit filters water before it’s distributed to the rest of the house.
To keep PFPeS reduction dependable, GAC media must be sized correctly and replaced on schedule because carbon becomes exhausted over time. Adding a sediment pre-filter helps prevent channeling and preserves carbon performance. Many Milltown homeowners combine a whole-house GAC system with a dedicated drinking-water filter at the kitchen sink for extra peace of mind. Mr. Pure Water can assess your plumbing and water use in Milltown to recommend the right whole-house carbon system so PFPeS treatment stays consistent day after day.
