Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can migrate from industrial uses and consumer products into groundwater and drinking supplies. Because these compounds are persistent, they can remain in water long after the original source is gone. Homeowners in Casa Blanco often hear about PFAS as a class, but individual compounds like PFTrDA may appear on test reports. If PFTrDA shows up in your results, a practical whole-house strategy can help reduce its presence throughout your home.
You won’t detect PFTrDA by sight, smell, or taste — lab testing that reports PFAS by compound is the reliable way to know if it’s present. Even when water meets regulatory limits, many Casa Blanco residents choose extra treatment for peace of mind. A whole-house system treats the water used for showering, cooking, laundry and brushing teeth, ensuring consistent reduction of trace contaminants at every outlet.
For PFTrDA, a high-capacity activated carbon whole-house filter—most commonly granular activated carbon (GAC)—is the single-filter option shown to work best in a household setting. Activated carbon adsorbs PFAS as water flows through the media, and because PFTrDA is a longer-chain PFAS it is generally more effectively captured by quality carbon than some shorter-chain compounds. Proper tank size and media volume are important in Casa Blanco homes so the system provides sufficient contact time at typical residential flow rates.
A whole-house activated carbon unit is placed at the main water entry to treat every faucet and appliance without multiple point-of-use devices. To maintain PFTrDA reduction in Casa Blanco households, the carbon media should be replaced on a schedule that matches your water usage and the system’s rated capacity. Adding a sediment pre-filter helps protect the carbon by preventing premature clogging and channeling. Mr. Pure Water can recommend and size a properly configured whole-house GAC system to address PFAS like PFTrDA across your home.
