Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one member of the PFAS family that can enter drinking water when these persistent chemicals move from industrial and consumer sources into the environment. Because PFAS break down very slowly, they can remain in water long after the original release. People in Clio often hear about PFAS generally, but testing sometimes reports individual compounds like PFTrDA by name — and if your results include PFTrDA, many homeowners reasonably look for a practical, whole-home way to lower their exposure.
You won’t be able to see, smell, or taste PFTrDA in tap water; laboratory testing that lists PFAS by compound is the reliable way to confirm its presence. Even when water meets regulatory criteria, families in Clio may choose extra treatment for peace of mind. A whole-house system treats every outlet — showers, kitchen faucets, laundry — so the same treated water is used throughout your home rather than relying solely on point-of-use devices.
For treating PFTrDA across a whole house, the single most effective filter choice is a high-capacity activated carbon system, commonly using granular activated carbon (GAC). GAC removes many longer-chain PFAS by adsorbing them onto the media as water flows through; PFTrDA is considered a longer-chain compound and is typically well suited to carbon reduction. Proper tank size and media volume are important in Clio homes so the contact time at real household flow rates gives the carbon a chance to perform well.
A whole-house carbon filter is placed at the main water inlet so every faucet and appliance in your Clio home receives treated water without the need for multiple under-sink units. To maintain PFTrDA reduction, the carbon media must be replaced on a schedule determined by your water usage and the system’s rated capacity; adding a sediment pre-filter helps protect the carbon bed from clogging and channeling. Mr. Pure Water can assess your Clio property and recommend a properly sized whole-house activated carbon system focused on reducing PFAS like PFTrDA.
