Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one of the PFAS family of chemicals that can enter water when these persistent compounds move from industrial sources and consumer products into the environment. Because PFAS are slow to break down, they can remain in water supplies long after the original source is gone. Homeowners often hear about PFAS generally, but testing sometimes identifies individual compounds like PFTrDA on lab reports; if your Harbinwood Estates results show PFTrDA, many residents look for a practical, whole-house solution to reduce it.
PFTrDA won’t change the look, smell, or taste of your water, so lab testing that reports PFAS by compound is the reliable way to confirm its presence. Even when municipal or well water meets regulatory limits, some Harbinwood Estates homeowners prefer the extra reassurance of reducing trace contaminants throughout the house. A whole-house system treats drinking, bathing, cooking, laundry, and toothbrushing water consistently at every faucet.
The most effective single-filter whole-house option for PFTrDA is a high-capacity activated carbon system using granular activated carbon (GAC). As water flows through the carbon media, PFAS molecules are adsorbed onto the surface of the granules, and longer-chain PFAS such as PFTrDA are generally more readily captured by quality carbon than many shorter-chain compounds. Proper tank size and sufficient contact time are important for performance at real household flow rates common in Harbinwood Estates homes.
A whole-house carbon filter is placed at the point where water enters the home so every faucet and appliance in Harbinwood Estates receives treated water without relying on multiple point-of-use units. To maintain PFTrDA reduction, the carbon media must be replaced on a schedule determined by your water use and the system’s capacity; adding a sediment pre-filter helps protect the carbon from clogging and channeling. Mr. Pure Water can assess your property and recommend a properly sized whole-house GAC system to target PFAS like PFTrDA across your home.
