Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one of the PFAS family of chemicals that can enter drinking water when these persistent compounds move from industrial sources and consumer products into the environment. Because PFAS break down slowly, they can remain in water long after the original release. When local testing panels identify PFTrDA by name, many homeowners on Isles of Capri want a straightforward, whole-house solution that treats water consistently throughout their coastal property.
PFTrDA won’t change the look, smell, or taste of your water, so lab testing is the reliable way to know whether it’s present. Even where water meets regulatory limits, homeowners in Collier County and nearby Marco Island often choose extra treatment for peace of mind. A whole-house system makes sure the water you use for showering, cooking, laundry and brushing teeth across your Isles of Capri home receives the same treatment.
For PFTrDA, the most effective single-filter option for whole-house use is a high-capacity activated carbon system—commonly granular activated carbon (GAC). Carbon removes many longer-chain PFAS by adsorbing them onto the media as water flows through; PFTrDA is a longer-chain compound and is often captured more readily by quality carbon than some shorter-chain PFAS. In coastal, hard-water areas like Isles of Capri, choosing the right tank size and media volume ensures adequate contact time at real household flow rates.
A whole-house carbon filter is placed at the main water entry so every faucet and appliance on Isles of Capri gets treated water without relying on multiple point-of-use units. To maintain PFTrDA reduction, the carbon media must be replaced on a schedule that reflects your household’s water use and the system’s capacity. Adding a sediment pre-filter helps protect the carbon from clogging and channeling—especially useful in hard-water, coastal homes exposed to corrosion and salt air. Mr. Pure Water can help size and install a whole-house activated carbon system tailored to remove PFAS like PFTrDA throughout your home.
