Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can enter drinking water when these persistent compounds move from industrial or consumer sources into the environment. Because PFAS break down very slowly, they can remain in water supplies even after the original source is gone. Homeowners in Kinard reading test reports may see PFTrDA listed alongside other PFAS — and it’s understandable to want a practical, whole-home solution to lower it where possible.
PFTrDA doesn’t change the smell, taste, or appearance of water, so lab testing is the only reliable way to confirm whether it’s present. Even when municipal or private well water meets regulatory limits, many Kinard residents prefer taking extra steps to reduce trace contaminants for peace of mind. A whole-house treatment ensures water used for showers, cooking, laundry and brushing teeth is treated consistently throughout your home.
For addressing PFTrDA, the most effective single-filter whole-house option is a high-capacity activated carbon system using granular activated carbon (GAC). Carbon removes PFAS by adsorbing them onto the media as water flows through; longer-chain PFAS like PFTrDA are often captured more readily by quality carbon than some shorter-chain variants. Proper tank sizing and adequate contact time at Kinard household flow rates are important so the system can perform reliably.
A whole-house carbon filter sits at the point where water enters your Kinard home, treating every faucet and appliance without needing multiple under-sink units. To maintain PFTrDA reduction, the carbon media should be replaced on a schedule that matches your water use and system capacity; adding a sediment pre-filter can also protect the carbon bed from clogging and channeling. Mr. Pure Water can help Kinard homeowners pick and size a whole-house activated carbon system aimed at reducing PFAS like PFTrDA throughout the house.
