Including filter system and high-performance PFTrDA filter.
PFTrDA is one of the PFAS family of chemicals that can enter drinking water when these persistent compounds move from industrial and consumer sources into the environment. Because PFAS are slow to break down, they can remain in water long after the original source is gone. Homeowners hear about PFAS in general, but specific compounds such as PFTrDA may appear on testing panels and reports — and if PFTrDA shows up, many Schall Circle residents want a practical, whole-home solution to lower their exposure.
PFTrDA won’t change the smell, taste, or clarity of your water, so lab testing that reports PFAS by compound is the only reliable way to know it’s present. Even when water meets regulatory limits, some homeowners in Schall Circle choose additional treatment for peace of mind. A whole-house system treats every tap — from showers to kitchen sinks — ensuring water used for cooking, laundry and brushing teeth is treated consistently across your home.
For PFTrDA, a high-capacity activated carbon whole-house filter — usually granular activated carbon (GAC) — is the single-filter approach most effective for homes. Activated carbon adsorbs PFAS as water flows through the media, and longer-chain PFAS like PFTrDA are generally captured more readily by quality carbon than many shorter-chain variants. In Schall Circle, where hard water from limestone aquifers can increase mineral load and scale, choosing the right tank size and media volume to ensure sufficient contact time at household flow rates is especially important.
A whole-house carbon system is mounted at the water entry point so every faucet and appliance in your Schall Circle home receives treated water without relying on multiple point-of-use units. To maintain PFTrDA reduction, the carbon media must be changed on a schedule that reflects your water use and the system’s capacity. Adding a sediment pre-filter helps protect the carbon bed from clogging and channeling — a useful step in hard-water areas — and Mr. Pure Water can guide you to a properly sized whole-house activated carbon system aimed at reducing PFAS like PFTrDA throughout the home.
