Including filter system and high-performance Radon filter.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can dissolve into groundwater and enter a home’s water system. While most people associate radon with indoor air, it can also be present in well water and other sources, releasing into the air when you shower, run the washing machine, or wash dishes. Kellys Mill homeowners who are concerned about radon often evaluate both their water and indoor air because activities that use water can move radon from the liquid into the air of your home.
Because radon in water has no taste, smell, or color, you can’t detect it by sampling a glass from the tap. The only way to know what’s in your household water is to test, since levels can differ from property to property. If testing in a Kellys Mill home shows elevated radon, it makes sense to consider treatments that match your plumbing and daily water use. Addressing radon at the point where water enters the house with a whole-house solution treats all outlets rather than a single faucet.
To reduce radon in household water, the single most effective treatment is usually a whole-house aeration system installed where the main water line comes into the home. Aeration strips radon out of the water by transferring the gas into an air stream before the water reaches showers, taps, and appliances. Because radon is a gas, approaches that enhance gas transfer are generally more effective than sediment or carbon filters at lowering radon throughout the house.
A whole-house aeration filter is a self-contained unit that mixes air with incoming water and then vents the radon-rich air safely outside the home. Placed before the water heater and the rest of your plumbing, it treats all water used for bathing, cooking, and cleaning in Kellys Mill residences. These systems can be combined with prefiltration when necessary to protect the aerator and downstream plumbing. Mr. Pure Water can assess your home and recommend the right aeration system and installation location for dependable whole-home radon reduction.
