Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a naturally occurring mineral that can appear in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. Even when it doesn’t affect taste, it can cause frustrating deposits when water evaporates or is heated. In Foley homes you may spot more film or spotting on glass, mineral buildup on faucets and showerheads, and reduced efficiency in hot-water appliances from these harder-to-remove silica residues.
Because silica often stays dissolved and chemically stable, it doesn’t always respond to the same treatments used for hardness minerals. Standard water softeners target calcium and magnesium but usually aren’t the best fix for silica. Some silica also exists as very fine particles, which behave differently than dissolved silicates and can persist even when other water concerns seem resolved in your Foley residence.
For most households the single most effective whole-house option for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO uses a semipermeable membrane to strip many dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than only catching larger particles. That makes it a better match for the dissolved forms that can pass through sediment or carbon filters, and when sized and installed correctly it addresses the source of the issue rather than just the visible buildup.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation is usually combined with pretreatment to protect the membrane and maintain consistent performance. Sediment and carbon stages lower fouling risk and remove substances that could interfere with the membrane, while the RO stage handles dissolved silica; any fine particulate silica can be caught by pretreatment. Mr. Pure Water can inspect your Foley plumbing, determine whether silica or silicates are behind your buildup, and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration for your home.
