Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a naturally occurring mineral that can appear in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. It often won’t change flavor, but it can cause practical headaches for Fountain homeowners. When water heats or evaporates, silica can leave behind tenacious deposits that are harder to remove than ordinary mineral scale, producing extra spotting on glass, buildup on faucets and showerheads, and reduced efficiency in appliances that use hot water.
Treating silica can be more complicated than addressing typical hardness because much of it stays dissolved and stable in the water. Standard water softeners target calcium and magnesium and usually aren’t the best fix for silica or silicates. In some cases silica also exists as very fine particulates, which behave differently than dissolved forms. That’s why Fountain families sometimes still see residue or performance issues even after other parts of their water system have been treated.
For most homes the single most effective whole-house solution for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO relies on a semipermeable membrane to remove many dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than merely trapping larger particles, so it’s better suited to the dissolved forms that can pass through sediment or carbon filters. When properly sized for a Fountain house, an RO system addresses the underlying dissolved silica instead of only masking the surface symptoms.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation is normally paired with pretreatment stages to protect the membrane and maintain reliable performance. Sediment and carbon filters reduce fouling and strip out other substances that could interfere with the RO, and pretreatment can also capture fine particulate silica before it reaches the membrane. Mr. Pure Water can inspect your Fountain home, test for silica or silicates, and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration for long-term protection.
