Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a naturally occurring mineral that can appear in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. It may not always change flavor, but it can cause persistent household headaches: when water evaporates or is heated, silica can leave behind tenacious films and deposits that are tougher to remove than ordinary mineral scale. In Juniper homes you might see extra spotting on glassware, buildup on fixtures, or diminished performance from hot-water appliances where silica deposits collect over time.
Because silica often stays dissolved and chemically stable in water, it doesn’t respond well to the same treatments that handle calcium and magnesium. Standard water softeners focus on hardness minerals and generally aren’t the best fix for silica or silicates. Some silica also shows up as very fine particulates, which behave differently from dissolved forms and can keep causing issues even after other water quality concerns are addressed in a Juniper household.
For many homes the most effective single whole-house option for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO relies on a semipermeable membrane to strip out dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than merely trapping larger debris. That makes reverse osmosis a better fit for the dissolved silica that can pass through sediment or carbon filters, and when properly sized it addresses the underlying source of deposits instead of only masking the visible buildup you notice around the house.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation is usually combined with pretreatment to protect the membrane and maintain steady performance. Sediment and carbon prefilters reduce fouling and remove other contaminants that could harm the RO membrane, while the RO stage reduces dissolved silica; pretreatment also helps capture any fine particulate silica before it reaches the membrane. Mr. Pure Water can inspect Juniper plumbing, test for silica or silicates, and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration for your home.
