Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a naturally occurring mineral that can appear in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. In many Navarre Beach homes it won’t change the flavor, but it can still leave frustrating residue when water evaporates or is heated. That residue often shows up as stubborn spots on glassware, mineral buildup on faucets and showerheads, and decreased efficiency in water-heating appliances — problems that are harder to remove than ordinary scale.
Because silica often stays dissolved and chemically stable, it doesn’t always respond to the same treatments used for other water concerns. Standard water softeners target hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium, but they’re generally not the best fix for dissolved silica or silicates. In some cases silica may also occur as very fine particles, which behave differently than dissolved forms — so even when other parts of your Navarre Beach water feel fine, silica-related buildup can persist.
For most homes the single most effective whole-house option for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO relies on a semipermeable membrane to remove many dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than merely catching larger particles. That makes reverse osmosis a better match for dissolved silica that can pass through sediment or carbon filters, and when sized correctly it addresses the source of the problem instead of just the visible deposits.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation is usually combined with pretreatment to protect the membrane and maintain consistent performance. Sediment and activated carbon stages reduce fouling and strip out substances that could interfere with the RO membrane, while the RO stage handles dissolved silica; pretreatment can also capture very fine particulate silica before it reaches the membrane. Mr. Pure Water can assess whether silica or silicates are contributing to buildup in your Navarre Beach home and recommend the right system configuration.
