Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a natural mineral that can appear in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. It may not make water taste different, but it can still cause headaches for Plantation homeowners. When water evaporates or is heated, silica can leave behind stubborn deposits that are tougher to remove than ordinary mineral scale—leading to spotting on glass, buildup on faucets and showerheads, and lower efficiency in water-heating appliances around the house.
Because silica often stays dissolved and chemically stable in water, it doesn’t always respond to the same treatments used for other local concerns. In Broward County where municipal supplies tend to be hard, traditional water softeners focus on calcium and magnesium and generally aren’t the best fix for silica or silicates. Some silica can also exist as very fine particulate, which behaves differently than the dissolved form and can persist even when other aspects of your water feel managed.
For many Plantation homes, the most effective single whole-house option for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO uses a semipermeable membrane to remove dissolved minerals—silica and silicates included—rather than just filtering out larger particles. That makes a properly sized RO setup a strong choice for addressing the dissolved silica that can pass through sediment or carbon filters and cause limescale and spotting in our hot, humid climate.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation is usually paired with pretreatment to protect the membrane and maintain reliable performance. Sediment and carbon stages reduce fouling and remove other contaminants that could shorten membrane life, and pretreatment also helps capture any fine particulate silica before it reaches the RO stage. Mr. Pure Water can assess whether silica or silicates are contributing to scale in your Plantation home—whether you’re in Jacaranda, Plantation Acres, or near Central Park—and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration.
