Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a naturally occurring mineral that can be present in tap water as dissolved silica or as silicates. While it may not always affect flavor, it can cause persistent household headaches. When Spray homeowners heat water or let it evaporate, silica can leave behind tough, glassy deposits that are harder to remove than ordinary mineral scale, leading to spotting on glass, buildup on faucets and fixtures, and decreased efficiency in hot-water appliances.
Because much silica remains dissolved and stable in water, it doesn’t respond well to the same treatments used for common hard-water minerals. Standard water softeners focus on calcium and magnesium and usually aren’t the best answer for silica or silicates. In some cases silica also shows up as very fine particulate, which behaves differently than dissolved forms—so even if other aspects of your Spray water seem managed, silica-related buildup can continue to be a nuisance.
For most Spray homes, the most effective single whole-house filter for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO uses a semipermeable membrane to strip away many dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than just capturing larger particles. That ability makes it a stronger option than sediment or carbon alone for the dissolved forms that cause staining and scale. When sized and installed correctly, an RO system addresses the dissolved silica itself instead of only masking the visible deposits.
A whole-house reverse osmosis installation for Spray properties is usually combined with pretreatment to keep the RO membrane functioning well. Sediment and carbon stages reduce fouling and remove other contaminants that can shorten membrane life, while the RO stage handles dissolved silica; pretreatment also helps capture any fine particulate silica before it reaches the membrane. Mr. Pure Water can assess whether silica or silicates are behind your spotting and deposits and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration for your home.
