Including filter system and high-performance Silica filter.
Silica is a natural mineral that can appear in tap water either dissolved or as silicates. It may not always affect flavor, but it can create frustrating residues when water evaporates or is heated. In Wabasso and the surrounding Indian River County area, where hard coastal South Florida water is common, homeowners may see extra spotting on glass, stubborn deposits on faucets and showerheads, and diminished efficiency in hot-water appliances when silica is present.
Because silica often remains dissolved and chemically stable, it doesn’t respond the same way as typical hardness minerals to many standard treatments. Conventional water softeners target calcium and magnesium but usually aren’t the best at removing silica or silicates. Some silica can also occur as very fine particles, which behave differently than dissolved forms, so the issue can persist even when other aspects of your household water—like hardness—seem managed.
For most homes, the single most effective whole-house option for reducing silica is a reverse osmosis system. RO uses a semipermeable membrane to strip out many dissolved minerals, including silica and silicates, rather than merely capturing larger sediment. That makes reverse osmosis a strong choice for addressing the dissolved silica that can pass through ordinary sediment or carbon filters and cause the scale and spotting you notice around the house.
A whole-house reverse osmosis arrangement is usually installed with pretreatment stages to protect the membrane and keep it working well over time. Sediment and carbon filters ahead of the RO reduce fouling and remove other contaminants that could shorten membrane life, while the RO membrane handles the dissolved silica. If fine particulate silica is present, the pretreatment will help capture it before it reaches the membrane. Mr. Pure Water can inspect your Wabasso property and recommend the right pretreatment and RO configuration so your fixtures, appliances and glassware stay cleaner longer.
