Strontium in Eustis Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Strontium in the Water Supply of Eustis Florida Homes

Strontium is a naturally occurring element that can dissolve into groundwater as it moves through certain rocks and soils. In low amounts it usually won’t change taste, smell, or appearance, so the only reliable way to know what’s in your water is a lab test or your water report. Many Eustis homeowners choose whole-house solutions so treatment happens before water reaches faucets throughout the house, helping protect plumbing and appliances in our hard Lake County water.

Worries about strontium most often surface after testing indicates higher concentrations, and some families prefer to be proactive about long-term exposure. Strontium is not the same as aesthetic complaints like chlorine or sulfur and won’t be fixed by basic carbon-only filters. A point-of-use filter at the kitchen sink can improve drinking water, but it won’t treat water used for cooking, showers, or teeth brushing. For consistent coverage across an Eustis home — from Downtown Eustis bungalows to waterfront properties on Lake Eustis — whole-house treatment is the more complete option.
