Including filter system and high-performance Tribromoacetic acid filter.
Tribromoacetic acid is a disinfection byproduct that can appear in treated drinking water when disinfectants react with natural organic material in the source. Because it forms during treatment, it may be present even if the water looks clear and smells normal. Many Medart homeowners choose added filtration so they can feel confident about what comes from every faucet in the house.
Small concentrations can add up when your family uses water for drinking, cooking, showering, and ice—so it’s understandable to want whole-home protection. Tribromoacetic acid is part of a larger group of compounds linked to disinfection and shifting water chemistry, and levels can change as treatment practices or source conditions vary. A whole-house solution in Medart treats water for all uses rather than relying solely on a single sink filter.
To reduce tribromoacetic acid throughout the house, a whole-house activated carbon system is generally the most effective single-filter option. Carbon media adsorbs many disinfection byproducts as water flows through the tank, so installing the unit where water enters your Medart home protects showers, laundry, dishwashers and every tap. That approach gives more consistent control than multiple point-of-use units.
Because effectiveness relies on contact time and correct sizing, a backwashing carbon filter is commonly recommended for whole-house use. Backwashing maintains an even media bed by removing sediment and preventing channeling, which helps the carbon work reliably across changing daily demand. Mr. Pure Water can size and specify the right carbon type for your Medart property so the system performs dependably over time.
