Including filter system and high-performance Triclosan filter.
Triclosan is an antibacterial ingredient once used in soaps, toothpastes and other everyday products. Because it can wash down drains, tiny amounts can make their way into waterways and sometimes into drinking water sources. Many New Harmony homeowners prefer treating water at the point it enters the house to lower trace contaminants like triclosan throughout plumbing, giving a more consistent water experience at every faucet.
Clear-looking water can still carry low-level organic compounds you can’t see or taste. Triclosan is often called an “emerging contaminant,” so it may not be included in routine testing in every area — leaving New Harmony residents to decide how they want to manage potential exposure during cooking, bathing, and oral care. Using a whole-house solution avoids depending on a single point-of-use device and protects all fixtures and appliances in your home.
To reduce triclosan in household water, a whole-house activated carbon filter is generally the best single-filter choice. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic chemicals, the group triclosan belongs to, and when installed at the main water entry it treats water before it reaches showers, sinks, and appliances in your New Harmony home. This approach delivers broader protection without changing how you use water day to day.
A correctly sized carbon media tank filled with quality activated carbon gives the longer contact time needed to capture organics like triclosan. Often paired with a prefilter to limit sediment and preserve carbon performance, this whole-house arrangement should be matched to your household’s flow rate and water conditions so pressure and convenience aren’t sacrificed. Mr. Pure Water can assess New Harmony homes and recommend the right carbon whole-house filter for effective triclosan reduction.
