Including filter system and high-performance Tungsten filter.
Tungsten is a metal found in nature that can end up in drinking water at low concentrations. In some places, groundwater moving through certain rock or soil can pick up higher amounts, and industrial activity can also affect local supplies. Because tungsten is typically colorless and odorless, Barth homeowners usually won’t detect it without laboratory testing. Many residents begin by checking for metals of concern, tungsten included, to feel confident about their tap water.
As studies on tungsten in drinking water continue, a practical response is to act cautiously if testing shows elevated levels. Clear, normal-tasting water can still contain dissolved metals, so regular testing is a smart step—especially for private wells where water quality can change with seasons or usage. If you’re on municipal water in Barth, reviewing the local water quality report and confirming results with a tap test gives a clearer picture of what’s entering your home.
To reduce tungsten at the point of entry, the most effective single-filter option is a whole-house reverse osmosis system. RO uses a semipermeable membrane that rejects many dissolved metals and inorganic contaminants, lowering tungsten before it reaches your faucets, showers, and appliances. Simpler media that address taste and odor won’t reliably stop dissolved tungsten, so a properly designed whole-house RO—complete with prefiltration to protect the membrane from sediment or chlorine—is the recommended choice for Barth homes.
A whole-house reverse osmosis system can be set up with storage and a delivery method to provide consistent treated water throughout your Barth residence. Long-term performance relies on correct sizing, sufficient water pressure, and routine filter and membrane maintenance to prevent fouling and maintain removal. If your Barth home uses a well, additional pretreatment for hardness, iron, or particulates may be advised to extend membrane life. Mr. Pure Water can review your water test results and recommend a whole-house RO system tailored to reduce tungsten effectively.
