Including filter system and high-performance Uranium filter.
In Bertha, uranium can enter household water when it leaches from certain rocks and soils into groundwater. Because it has no reliable taste, color, or smell, testing is the only way to know whether uranium or its isotopes are present in your supply. If your lab results show elevated levels, it’s reasonable to want a practical, local plan to safeguard your family and plumbing from potential impacts.
Lab reports may list uranium by isotope — Uranium-234, Uranium-235, and Uranium-238 — which are natural forms that show up in groundwater testing. For homeowners in Bertha, the main goal is simple: stop dissolved uranium at the point where water enters your house. A whole-house system treats every faucet and appliance, which matters for cooking, bathing, laundry and reducing scale buildup common in our hard, limestone-influenced water.
The most effective single-filter whole-house solution for uranium is an ion exchange system (sometimes called an anion exchange or nitrate-selective resin, depending on chemistry). This filter swaps charged ions in the water for ions on the resin media, capturing dissolved uranium species as water passes through. Because it treats all incoming water, it protects every tap and appliance rather than relying on a small under-sink unit.
Performance varies with water chemistry — pH, alkalinity and competing ions — so the correct resin and system design should be chosen based on your Bertha water test. A complete installation includes the resin tank plus regeneration or media-replacement components so the system stays effective over time. Mr. Pure Water can review your report and recommend an ion exchange whole-house setup sized for local conditions, giving you consistent treatment across the home.
