Including filter system and high-performance Uranium filter.
Uranium can enter household drinking water when it dissolves from certain local rocks and soils into groundwater sources that supply parts of Putnam County. Because uranium has no reliable taste, color, or smell, testing is the only way to know whether it’s present in your Childs supply. Lab results may list it simply as uranium or specify isotopes like uranium-234, uranium-235, and uranium-238, and a clear test helps you decide on the right steps to protect your home’s water.
The isotopes you’ll see on a report — uranium-234, uranium-235, and uranium-238 — are naturally occurring forms commonly measured together. For homeowners in Childs and nearby Palatka areas, the practical priority is reducing dissolved uranium at the point where water enters the house so every faucet, shower and appliance benefits. A whole-house solution provides coverage across cooking, bathing and laundry rather than treating only a single sink.
For whole-house uranium removal, an ion exchange system is typically the most effective single-filter option; depending on your water chemistry it may be described as an anion exchange or a nitrate-selective resin system. These filters swap charged ions in your water for ions on the resin bed, capturing dissolved uranium species as water passes through. Because it treats all incoming water, an ion exchange setup protects every tap in Childs instead of relying on a small under-sink unit.
Ion exchange performance depends on local water characteristics such as pH, alkalinity, hardness and competing ions, so matching the resin and system design to your lab results is essential — especially in our moderately hard groundwater near the St. Johns River. A complete system includes the resin tank plus the necessary components for regeneration or media replacement so it continues to work over time. Mr. Pure Water can review your Childs water report and recommend an ion exchange whole-house configuration tailored to lower uranium throughout your home.
